Admission Guidelines for Applicants for the 2025–26 Academic Session
(for admission into Government, Autonomous [Military–Civil], and Private Nursing and Midwifery Education Institutions)

Nursing Exam 2026 Important Date

  • Online application start date: 12 January 2026 (Monday, 12:00 PM)
  • Online application closing date: 31 January 2026 (Saturday, 11:59 PM)
  • Last date for payment of online application fee: 01 February 2026 (Sunday, 11:59 PM)
  • Online admit card download period: 22–24 February 2026 (Sunday–Tuesday, from 5:00 PM)
  • Admission test date and time: 27 February 2026 (Friday, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM)

Eligibility

For admission into the 4-year BSc in Nursing, 3-year Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery, and 3-year Diploma in Midwifery courses for the 2025–26 academic year, applicants must apply online subject to the following conditions in accordance with the “Student Admission Policy for BSc in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery, and Diploma in Midwifery Courses, 2025.”

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be a permanent citizen of Bangladesh.

The applicant must have passed:

HSC or equivalent examination in 2023, 2024, or 2025, and

SSC or equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or 2023.
However, the gap between the SSC and HSC examinations must not exceed three (3) years under any circumstances.

For admission into BSc in Nursing and Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery courses:

In government institutions, 15% of the approved seats will be reserved for male candidates.

In private institutions, a maximum of 20% of the approved seats may be filled by male candidates.

For the Diploma in Midwifery course, only female candidates are eligible to apply.

Eligibility for BSc in Nursing

(a) 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc in Nursing):

The applicant must have passed SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examinations from the Science group.

The combined GPA of both examinations must be at least 6.50, with no individual GPA below 3.00.

The applicant must have obtained a minimum GPA 2.50 in Biology in the HSC or equivalent examination.

Eligibility for Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery

(b) 3-year Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery:

The applicant must have passed SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent examinations from any group.

The combined GPA of both examinations must be at least 6.00, and

The GPA in any single examination must not be below 2.50.

Candidate Evaluation and Marks Allocation

(a) Evaluation Method

    Candidates will be evaluated based on:

    GPA obtained in SSC or equivalent examination

    GPA obtained in HSC or equivalent examination

    Marks obtained in the written (MCQ) admission test

    The marks distribution is as follows:

    SSC/equivalent GPA × 5 = Maximum 25 marks

    HSC/equivalent GPA × 5 = Maximum 25 marks

    MCQ Examination = Maximum 100 marks

    Total Marks = 150

    (b) Pass Mark

    The minimum pass mark in the MCQ examination is 40 (forty).

    Subject-wise Marks Distribution for Nursing Admission Test


    (a) BSc in Nursing

      Bangla – 15

      English – 20

      Mathematics – 10

      Science (Biology, Physics & Chemistry) – 40

      General Knowledge & Human Values – 15

      Total = 100 marks

      (b) Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery

      Bangla – 20

      English – 20

      General Mathematics – 10

      General Science – 30

      General Knowledge & Human Values – 20

      Total = 100 marks

      Admission Procedure

        After completing admission to government institutions based on merit order of candidates who pass the combined admission test, the remaining successful candidates may seek admission to private institutions, subject to availability of seats and according to their preferences.

        Candidates who do not appear in the admission test or fail in the examination shall not be eligible for admission to any government or private nursing and midwifery education institution.

        1. Course Restriction

        A candidate who qualifies for admission in one course shall not be allowed to enroll in any other course under any circumstances.
